Over a period of time this fox became quite inquisitive.
We recently visited Formby National Trust Nature reserve. At the reserve we saw many red squirrels which are attracted by the nuts fed by visitors to the reserve. It is really easy to get close to these usually shy mammals but we struggled with the light.
We recently visited the Red Kite feeding station at Grigin Farm. At the farm they feed the Kites every day and to watch these birds fly is a truly magnificent spectacle.
We also managed to see a “White Kite” which is a rare Leucistic type lacking the red and black colours or a normal kite. . Notice the bird has unusual blue eyes. Have a closer look.
.
Whilst in Wales we also so this Kite fetching nesting material and making a nest.
Meet Bomber an European Eagle Owl met at the Falconry UK Birds of Prey Centre near Northallerton. See the website for more details.
New to the gallery is a range of photos from an early June visit to the
Farne Islands in Northumberland and Bass Rock in Scotland. The weather was
not the best for the trip but some worthwhile images were still obtained
mainly of the following;
- Gannets and Grey Seals at Bass Rock
- Puffins, Guillemots and Shags on Staple Island
- Arctic Terns and Puffins on Inner Farne.
